Bring on the seafood!
I’m in the Outer Banks, Corolla to be exact, for a family vacation. It’s gorgeous, our house is right on the bay, hammocks, wrap around porches, and a pool. I don’t really care about that though. What I’m most excited about is the seafood. Not just seafood though, fresh seafood. Fresh as in, caught 100 feet from the market, and only a few hours before I get my hands on it. Not only is it fresh, it’s bold. This is the south. They don’t joke around. Everything is packeddd with flavor, or fried. Which I’m not complaining about! I wish that when I used to live here, as a child, I ate everything I eat now. Oh well, looks like I have a lot of making up to do over the next couple of days. Last night we were all exhausted, we all had a ridiculously long trip, thanks to the genious who planned to only have one road entering the island. We barely moved 30 miles in 4 hours. That being said, we just got take out from a couple different palces. I ordered from Fat Crabs, and I went all out.
I had a bowl of crab chowda’, which was ahhh-mazing. I actually got a pint, so I have more left over :D

For my dinner I got crabcakes with their spicy tartar sauce, a side of red-skin ‘taters, and corn on the cob. I loved the crab cakes, but, I’m a sucker for potato salad, and this was killer. Spot on, all around.

They also threw in 1/2 pound of steamed/spiced shrimp for free! Mmmm.
