Grilled crostini piled high with melted Brie, fresh, juicy cantaloupe, prosciutto, hand-picked basil, with a crack of pepper, and aged balsamic vinegar.
Now, I love making hors d’oeuvres, especially when it’s for my own dinner party. You can be as simple or as creative as you like. I also like it because you and your guests can enjoy a variety of different things, as opposed to just 1 appetizer or a bag of chips and a jar of highly processed dips. It’s called bite sized love, people.. Bite sized love.
For these:
Slice a fresh baguette.
For things like this, I prefer a straight cut, rather than a bias,
keeps it at 1-2 bites.
drizzle with evoo, sprinkle of salt, and grill.
once the first side is golden brown, flip, top with a slice a Brie.
top with sliced cantaloupe, chiffonade prosciutto (or fresh charcuterie of your choice) chiffonade basil, a drop or two of aged balsamic, and a crack of FGBP.
That’s it. See, you can do this! Like I always say, you can’t go wrong with cheap, easy, and quick. Especially when it’s this good. I guarantee you, everyone will love these, and if they can’t appreciate something like this, politely ask them to leave your dinner party. — seriously. :)
